Streik | Strike • A historical mural

In 1869 all of the 1,400 workers of the Lauenstein Waggon Factory went on strike for nine weeks after their wages had been cut by 25%. When production was resumed by strike breakers the workers stormed the plant and demolished it completely. Managing director Kirchberger shot one worker dead. Finally, the company had to declare bankruptcy.
